Value-Added course on ?Improving Safety, Ethics and Professional Practice in Engineering via Youth Training”

Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University will offer a Value-Added course (offline) titled ?Improving Safety, Ethics and Professional Practice in Engineering via Youth Training? during August 05, 2022 Friday to August 09, 2022 Tuesday.

Total duration of the said course is of 30 hours. The timings of the course will be from 9 am to 6 pm on all days. The course will be conducted in offline mode at Nirma University Campus, Ahmedabad.

The course will be conducted on the auspices of ?ACADEMICS WITHOUT BORDERS? (https://www.awb-usf.org/). The course instructor/AWB Volunteer is Dr. Rishi Gupta (https://www.uvic.ca/ecs/civil/people/home/guptar.php) Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

This course will be taught to the undergraduate/postgraduate students to motivate them for incorporating safety standards and ethical practices in the field of Civil Engineering. This course will help them becoming a better engineering professional.

Course Objectives:

• Enhance understanding of students in context of safety, ethics and professional practice (as it applies to Engineering),
• Training and educating youth for better practices related to safety, ethics and professional practice,
• Improving the engineering practice in developing countries like India.
