A site visit to the Dharoi Dam was organized for the 5th semester B.Tech Civil Engineering students to provide them with valuable exposure to the practical aspects of dam construction, operation, management, and maintenance.
The visit aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of key engineering concepts through first-hand observation of the dam’s structural components, design principles, construction processes, and operational systems, along with the safety measures adopted for its secure functioning.
Located on the Sabarmati River in Gujarat, the Dharoi Dam is a multipurpose project serving irrigation and water supply needs for the surrounding regions.
A total of 115 students participated in this educational visit, from the Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University.
