An expert lecture was organized on 1st August for our B.Tech. Semester-III (Civil Engineering) students. The lecture on “Standardization-Basic Concept” was conducted by the esteemed Mr. Milind Gupta from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Mr. Gupta covered a range of crucial topics, including:
–Introduction to Standards
–Need for Standards
–Benefits of Standards
Additionally, he provided detailed explanations on important IS codes such as IS 209: 2015, IS 1893 (Part-1): 2016, and IS 516.

Shri Milind Gupta

Mr. Gupta holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and an M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (2012). He has previously worked as a design engineer at WS Atkins (India) Pvt. Ltd. for two years. Since joining BIS in 2014, he has been actively involved in certification and standardization activities.
His extensive knowledge and experience in standards development at both national and international levels made the session extremely enriching for our students.
