25th Foundation Day Celebration

As part of Silver Jubilee celebration, Civil Engineering Department has organized two events as under:

1) OrCES (Organization of Civil Engineering Students) and P.G. students of the department have conducted an event AARAMBH. They have presented a video showing the journey of Nirma University and Civil Engineering Department in the last 25 years. Another video showing the journey of Heavy Structure Laboratory was also presented, followed by a technical video. Technical video titled “Life beyond Structures and Analysis” delivered by Prof.Devdas Menon, IIT Madras was screened for one hour.

2) OrCES (Student organization of Civil Engineering) along with Nirma Volunteaching Movement (NVM) has arranged an extension activity for Miroli Village School Students. Approximately 70 students from Miroli Village were brought here and given a tour of Institute of Technology, Nirma University. The idea behind the proposed visit is to provide exposure of premier educational institution and a lifelong inspiration to these children. They have participated in activities like drawing competition, talent show as well as awareness sessions on addiction of tobacco and it’s severe effects on human body and health. They were educated on importance of traffic awareness.

Other than these, OrCES has prepared a beautiful rangoli design and a graffiti board in line with the celebration of Silver Jubilee.
