The 17th International Conference on Concrete Engineering & Technology (CONCET 2026) was successfully organized by Universiti Malaya and the Centre for Innovative Construction Technology (CICT), Universiti Malaya, at Balai Ungku Aziz, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 17 to 21 August 2026.
The Department of Civil Engineering, Nirma University, actively participated in the international conference, with a total of five research papers presented by undergraduate and postgraduate students. The participation provided students with an opportunity to present their research work on an international platform and interact with researchers, academicians, and professionals from different institutions.

The students were accompanied by Dr. Tejas Joshi, Faculty Member, Department of Civil Engineering, who also participated in the conference and academic activities.
A significant achievement for the Department was the recognition received at the Best Paper Award ceremony. The research paper titled “Condition Assessment of Pothole Detection using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in Rigid Pavement” was recognized for its outstanding research contribution.

Participation in CONCET 2026 provided valuable international exposure to the students and faculty and strengthened the Department’s commitment to research, innovation, sustainable construction, and emerging technologies in Civil Engineering. Such platforms enable students to disseminate their research findings, gain insights into contemporary developments, and build academic interactions with the global research community.
