The Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University organized an expert lecture on “5S Method in Construction: Smarter, Safer & Greener Sites” for B.Tech Semester VI and M.Tech students.
The session was delivered by Dr. Marimuthu K, PhD (Institute for Lean Construction Excellence (ILCE)), followed by an insightful case study presentation by Mr. Yadhnesh Udas, Afcons Infrastructure Limited.
The lecture introduced students to the principles of 5S methodology and its role in improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability at construction sites. The case study on Afcons projects provided a practical perspective on the implementation of lean construction practices in real-world scenarios.
Students actively participated in the session and gained valuable exposure to modern site management techniques that promote organized, safe, and environmentally responsible construction practices.
