The Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University, organized a Fire Safety Awareness Drive/Lecture for B.Tech. Semester VII students to strengthen their understanding of fire prevention, emergency response, and safety practices.
The programme was conducted by a team of six experts from the Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI), who shared valuable insights into fire hazards, firefighting equipment, evacuation procedures, and essential safety practices applicable to educational and industrial environments.
Approximately 110 students participated in the programme and actively engaged in the interactive session. The experts also demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers and highlighted the importance of preparedness and timely response during emergencies. Discussions on real-life case studies and preventive measures further helped students understand practical approaches to minimizing fire-related risks.
The session provided students with practical knowledge beyond the classroom and contributed to building greater awareness of fire safety, emergency preparedness, and responsible safety practices.
