Industry Meet organized by Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University
On October 21, 2023, the Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University hosted an Industry Meet that brought together representatives from various construction industries and our esteemed faculty members. This event aimed to foster collaboration between academia and industry for the betterment of our students and the field of civil engineering.
Insightful discussions on undergraduate and postgraduate programs have happened, including the proposed syllabus aligning with NEP 2020. We have received valuable feedback and suggestions from industry experts to enhance our curriculum and prepare students for real-world challenges.
The feedback from industry leaders was both enlightening and constructive, emphasizing the importance of communication skills, practical case studies, and interdisciplinary knowledge.
Our Director General, Dr. Anup Singh, shared his thoughts on the importance of academia-industry collaboration and the need for more interactions. He stressed that both academia and industry have equal responsibility and rights in shaping our students’ careers.
We are also planning to increase industry involvement by having them participate in student orientation programs and mock interview sessions.
We are grateful to all the industry representatives and individuals who contributed to the success of this event. This Industry Meet has paved the way for exciting developments in our civil engineering programs and further strengthened our commitment to providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the industry.
