IEI Students’ Chapter, Civil Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, Nirma University has organized a knowledge sharing session on “Basics of AUTOCAD” on 02nd September 2022 at 04:15 p.m. through OFFLINE mode. The session was conducted by Mr. Shivam Akbari (21mclc01), a student of M. Tech. (CASAD) final year, Civil Engineering Department, IT-NU. A total of 36 participants including UG and PG students of the department attended
the knowledge-sharing session. During the session, Mr. Shivam Akbari has discussed the importance of AUTOCAD, which is a drafting tool for civil engineers. He gave a brief overview of various useful commands and tools of the software. Further, he demonstrated some of the features of the AUTOCAD software, which are widely used for preparation of structural drawings and detailing sketches. Also, he has briefly explained about creating structure using software. Furthermore, he has advised participants to carry out hands-on practice and explore the software in detail, to create good structural and architectural drawings. The session concluded with a question-answer and interaction amongst participants. As per the tradition of Nirma University, the session started with a prayer. The entire session was coordinated by members of the working committee of the IEI Students’ Chapter.
