IEI Students’ Chapter, Civil Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, Nirma University has organized a technical lecture on “Entrepreneurship in Civil Engineering & Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) Technology”. The lecture was conducted by Ms. Silky Agrawal, Founder, Geocarte Radar Technology Pvt. Ltd., Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) on 06th September 2022 at Room No. A-101, Institute of Technology, Nirma University. A total of 168 participants including UG students and faculty members of the department attended the lecture. Ms. Silky Agrawal shared her experience and journey of the start-up related to Ground Penetration Radar Technology during the session. She covered various aspects like background, idea, the process involved with the technology development and the challenges encountered during the journey. She explained the working mechanism of GPR technology along with
practical application in civil engineering. She shared her experience and demonstrated the application of GPR technologyfor detection of underground objects with high accuracy & precision, for various government and private projects. She also discussed her entrepreneurial experience, its significance, future implications, impact on our livelihood, and how to
implement it in the field of Civil Engineering.
As per the tradition of Nirma University, the session started with a prayer. The entire session was coordinated by members of the working committee of the IEI Students’ Chapter.
