Students Participation
Two teams of the Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University, participated in the Student Project Category at ILCC2025, organised at Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati by Institute for Lean Construction Excellence (ILCE).
We are delighted to announce that our students Dhyey Gondalia, Bhairavi Valodara, Nirali Mistri, Harshit Jhaveri, and Yayin Parmar have achieved an outstanding milestone at the Indian Lean Construction Competition during the Indian Lean Construction Conference (ILCC) 2025, held at IIT Tirupati.
Competing against some of the brightest minds from across the country, our team secured a Winner’s position in the academic category. This remarkable achievement was made possible under the valuable guidance of Dr. Lukman Mansuri, whose mentorship played a key role in shaping the team’s understanding, strategy, and overall excellence.
Our students showcased remarkable innovation through their prototype AURA – Automated Risk and Uncertainty Analyzer. The project integrates Lean Construction principles by highlighting lookahead plans, identifying potential wastes in advance, and supporting proactive decision-making. AURA is designed to ensure smoother workflow, improved planning reliability, and enhanced efficiency on construction sites, truly reflecting their dedication, creativity, and strong understanding of lean methodologies.
The Team of Ranglani Viren, Aishwarya Nair, PUJARA JAY, and Akshat Khakhi presented a project titled “Proposed Lean Framework for Enhancing Site Logistics and Waste Minimisation for Construction Projects,” guided by Dr. Parul Patel.
Faculty Participation in ILCC2025
Dr. Parul Patel, Professor and Head of the Civil Engineering Department, has presented the following two papers:
>> “Integration of lean construction and Building Information Modelling (BIM) for enhancing efficiency: a Case study” authored by Dhairya Joshi, Parul R. Patel and Lukman E. Mansuri.
>>“Enhancing construction quality and productivity through the implementation of lean principles and tools”, authored by Parul R. Patel, Prashant Parihar and Sachin S. Patil.
Dr Parul R. Patel has chaired the technical session during the paper presentation in the B2 track on 3/12/2025.
Dr Parul R Patel was invited as a Panel Member in the Panel discussion on “Shaping the future: Impact in Lean Construction Education and Research” in ILCC 2025 on Conference Day 1 on 2/12/2025.
Participating in ILCC 2025 was a highly enriching experience. Students gained exposure to real-time industry challenges, collaborated on innovative solutions, and applied lean tools to optimize project performance.
A big congratulations to our brilliant students for bringing pride to the department!
