We are happy to announce the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)–Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, Uttarakhand (India)
The collaboration between CSIR-CBRI, a premier national laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and IT-NU, renowned for its contributions to engineering and technology education, has been instrumental in fostering research, academic interaction, and professional excellence in the fields of Civil Engineering, Building Science, and Disaster Mitigation and Management.
The MoU, initiated in 2022, embodies the commitment of both institutions to promote the development of highly qualified manpower and to advance research and innovation in critical areas such as Building Science, Engineering Sciences, Disaster Mitigation, and Material Science.
During the signing ceremony, Shri Ajay Chaurasia, Chief Scientist, CSIR-CBRI graced us with his invaluable insights and expertise. From the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, we were honored to have Dr. Rajesh Patel, Director, School of Engineering, IT-NU, and Dr. Urmil Dave, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, whose visionary leadership has propelled our collaborative efforts forward.
Key highlights of the renewed MoU include:
1. Academic Interaction: Encouraging exchange programs, joint conferences, practical training, and collaborative research projects between CSIR-CBRI scientists and IT-NU faculty members and students.
2. Sharing of Facilities: Facilitating the sharing of R&D facilities, software, and library resources to promote academic and research interaction.
3. Activity Coordination: Coordinating different activities through designated coordinators from each organization.
This renewal reaffirms our commitment to collaborative excellence and underscores our shared vision of advancing knowledge and innovation for societal benefit. We look forward to leveraging this partnership to address current challenges and explore new frontiers in research and education.
