The Department puts dedicated efforts to bring dignitaries from globally reputed universities for providing an international exposure to the students.
Few activities are highlighted as below:
The Department of Civil Engineering hosted a delegation in March 2025 and February 2026 from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS), Germany, for a highly successful visit centered on academic exchange and global collaboration.
The Department of Civil Engineering concluded a successful 3-day workshop in January 2025 as part of the SPARC-UKIERI project, “Towards a Circular Economy: Exploring Nanotechnology, Plastics, and Additive Manufacturing for Development of Sustainable Concrete.” Funded by the Ministry of Education (GoI) and the British Council, this collaborative initiative aims to build research capacity among a cohort of 16 Masters students from India and the UK.
M.Tech Student Jay Viradiya (19MCLC05) has received Mitacs Globalink Research Award – Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (SICI) has been approved on March 31, 2021. He worked as an Intern for the project titled “ssessment of Corrosion in RC Slabs using NDTs” under the Guidance of Dr. Rishi Gupta, Dept. of Civil Engineering, University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. A minimum of $6000 has provided as the award money.
Dr Rishi Gupta, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Department, University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada visited the Department from March 1-3, 2019. He interacted with the MTech Civil (CASAD) students and faculty members.
Dr Daniel Abrams Emeritus Professor of Structural Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA, visited the Civil Engineering Department, as Fulbright Specialist under USIEF, New Delhi. Dr Abrams conducted a lecture series on course titled “Experimental Techniques in Earthquake Engineering” for MTech (CASAD) Semester-IV students. He also interacted with students of BTech (Civil Engineering).
Siddharth Jani and Riddhi Vora, did their Major Project at University of Victoria, Canada under the guidance of Dr Urmil Dave and Dr Rishi Gupta, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Department, University of Victoria, Canada.
Dr Banu Ormeci, Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Carleton University, Canada visited the Department during November 10-11, 2017. During her visit, she delivered couple of expert talks on waste water engineering to BTech Civil Engineering students.
